This posture of Hanuman is a rare depiction in bronze imagery for the region. Here, Hanuman holds a gada in his left hand while in the other hand, in similar iconography, usually holds the Dronagiri mountain. The mountain was essential to healing Lakshmana as the magical Sanjeevini herb grew on it. The right leg complements the position of the hand and rests on a boulder. This representation of Hanuman is referred to as Sankatmochan. He stands on a single-petalled upturned lotus on a circular base. He has a small prabhavali attached around his kiratmukuta.
