Shiva in the form of Dakshinamurthi is the embodiment of knowledge and the destroyer of ignorance. This elegant bronze statuette has Dakshinamurthi’s right foot placed on Apasmarapurusha. He is three-eyed and four-armed. He holds a rosary in his lower right hand as he performs the jnana mudra. The lower left hand is in the abhaya mudra, as he holds a manuscript in it. The upper two hands hold a snake and fire. The tree of life wisdom fans out and canopies him like a five-hooded serpent. His jatamukuta is adorned with a crescent moon. He wears necklaces, a yajnopavita, a chest band, armlets, bracelets, and anklets. At the bottom are two attendants with folded hands, with Dakshinamurthi seated on a square-shaped lotus pedestal.
