A Nayika is seen holding a golden cage in her hands while conversing with a parrot which ostensibly seems to be an amalgamation of several classic styles and periods. This particular painting however shows the strongest resonance with a late Bundi qalam with a nineteenth-century Jaipur and Kangra touch infused to it. Some of the elements like the flared ghagara do not match any specific style. The shape of the Nayika’s eyes are closer to Jaipur while her eyebrows are from Kishangarh. Her rounded forehead and the line of her nose are from Kangra while her lips and chin adhere to the classic Bundi style. Her waist line and broad hip line furthermore resemble much later Pichawai style figures. The tree with pale leaves in the background has the quality of a Bundi style rendering and a parrot perched on it, turns its head looking at the Nayika.

Her long hair is left open and her head is covered with her translucent white odhani. She is bedecked in gold and pearl jewellery and the light green of the background which should be a malachite green is totally off as it merges with the colourful skyline.
