View Dimensions A rare gilded bronze image of Vishnu from Kashmir. The four-armed deity is flanked by his two personified attributes - chakrapurusha and gadanari. In the upper two hands, he holds a spinning disc and lotus/mace (?), and the lower hands are placed on chakrapurusha and gadanari. The rectangular base waisted in the middle is also typical of Kashmiri bronzes of the period. Vishnu wears a three-leaf crown and a long garland. Slight vestiges of pigment can be seen on Vishnu’s face.

View Dimensions A rare image of a deity having two heads seated on a human mount. Unfortunately, the facial features of the figure have been completely obliterated and the body parts are covered in a thick layer of earth making its identification very difficult. The iconographic arrangement appears to be akin to Garudarudha Vishnu, while the treatment of the body renders similarity to Bhairavi (due to what appears like breasts). The mount is seated, and her palms are joined in anjalimudra. In all probability, the deity is martial in nature and could have a tantric affiliation.

View Dimensions A folk depiction of Lakshmi and Narayana. The divine pair are enthroned on an inverted lotus seat, with Lakshmi sitting on Vishnu’s lap. Narayana holds shankha, chakra, and padma while Lakshmi holds a lotus in her hands. Vishnu’s kiratamukuta is topped by a five-headed Sheshanaga, as the serpent’s body beautifully coils to form the back of Vishnu’s throne. Both deities are elaborately adorned with crowns, necklaces, armlets, bracelets, girdles, and anklets.

View Dimensions Seated in padmasana on a lotus base backed by a large halo, this small-sized Kubera holds two pots in both hands. Kubera, the god of riches and guardian of the north is short and portly and appears distinctly Jaina in appearance due to his hairstyle, elongated earlobes, and meditative posture. However, the attributes bear affinity to the Hindu Kubera.
