A rare gilded bronze image of Vishnu from Kashmir. The four‒armed deity is flanked by his two personified attributes, Chakrapurusha and Gadadevi. In his upper hands, he holds a lotus and shankha, while his lower hands touch the haloes of Chakrapurusha and Gadadevi. The rectangular base, waisted at the centre, is also typical of Kashmiri bronzes of the period. Vishnu wears a three‒leaf crown and a long garland. Slight vestiges of pigment can be seen on Vishnu’s face.
