Born in Baroda in 1920, Sadanand Bakre was a leading Modernist and one of the members of the Bombay Progressive Artists’ Group, known for his innovative sculpting techniques. When his family moved to Bombay, Bakre joined the Gokhale Education Society school. Noticed by his drawing teacher and encouraged to paint, he took up painting seriously. The sculpture features a copper plate near the base engraved with the Karya Siddhi yantra, a sacred geometric symbol associated with protection and prosperity, and is supported by two steel rods.

This sculpture is attached to a wooden base measuring 4.75 x 14.25 x 7.5 in (12 x 36 x 19.5 cm)
