Ramgopal Vijaivargiya born in the Baler Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan was an active proponent of the Bengal School in his native state. He received his formal training in art from the Maharajas School of Art Jaipur under Sailendranath Dey who was a follower of Abanindranath Tagore's ideas.
